If you say “because it’s open”, I *will* strike you. »

I find it hard to take the Andriod platform seriously with the lingering notion, “open is better.” Seth has it right, it is a marketing term used to take a stab at the once closed (now open) iOS platform. If you remember correctly, Steve Jobs announced the App Store back in July 2008 (nearly three years ago), effectively opening the iOS platform for a series of applications, games and utilities.

Go ahead and define open: allowing access, passage, or a view through an empty space. And closed? Not open.

Update: I felt this little snippet from John Gruber would fit right-in with this post:

“Android has a stuttery UI” doesn’t mean “Android is bad” or “Android is useless” or even necessarily “Android is not the best mobile OS”. It just means that Android has a stuttery UI.
